Latest 2014 report from ICF cites enhancing work performance is the top reason for seeking coaching.

The survey was carried out by PricewaterhouseCoopers for the ICF among 18,810 individuals representing 25 countries, so it has a good reach.

Key highlights:

  • Men were slightly more likely than women to participate in a coaching
  • 83 per cent of respondents who’d participated in a coaching relationship said they thought it was “somewhat” or “very” important for coaches to hold a credential in coaching
  • Awareness of coaching is highest (70 per cent) in the “Big Four”  - Australia, Canada, the UK, and the USA - no surprise there! But Continental Europe and other major countries like Brazil and South Africa are catching up.
